Dear Friends! You very welcome to adventure race Lidzsvars 1st winter stage, which will take place on February 23, in Madona, Latvia! There will be two distances: 8h - long, start at 10 a.m. 4h - short, start at 1 p.m. This time competition will be based on rogaining idea. There will be several stages with time limitation. In each stage the team should collect as much points as possible. There will be 2 type of stages - skiing and tracking. No bikes, no boats, no skates. One week before Lidzsvars in this area will be European Ski Orienteering Championship, so for skiing stages we plan to use the truck network from ESOC. Total length of this network will be over 50km. But don't expect there there will be just fast ski orienteering. There will be also some stages with "no truck" skiing. How much there will be "fast skiing" and how much will be "no truck" skiing will depend on team strategy and weather conditions. Trucking stages will be similar to skiing stages - there will be a possibility to use forest roads or try to reach CP directly. In this stage, as well as in all previous Lidzsvars competitions, we will use different maps, there will be different tasks. So, your mind will have to work hard as well!
